Dr Susan Eriksson, South Eastern Finland University of
Applied Sciences (XAMK, Finland) works as a researcher in Juvenia Centre of Youth Research and Development at South Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences. Her fields of expertise are marginalisation of young people, youth services and digitalisation. She also has a vast knowledge on disability research, and currently she researches young people with disabilities and their opportunities for participation, and the nature of their youth in general.

Claudia Radiven

Claudia Radiven is a Teaching Fellow in the School of Sociology and Social Policy and a final year PhD student at the University of Leeds (England) researching de-radicalisation in the UK, colonial racial governance and Islamophobia. She also completed her BA and Master’s degree by research at the University in the School of Arabic, Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies (AIMES). She currently teaches on a range of modules including State Crime, Global Jihad and Social Policy. Her research interests include decoloniality, Critical Muslim Studies, crimes of the powerful and counter-terror policy. Her PhD supervision is split between the School of Sociology and Social Policy and AIMES. Claudia has also co-edited and authored the forthcoming (June, 2021) book: Crimes of States and Powerful Elites.

Dr Kari Saari

Dr Kari Saari works as a researcher in Juvenia Youth Research and Development Centre in the South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (XAMK, Finland). He holds the title of Docent (Sociology of Law and Criminology) in University of Turku, Finland. Saari has written more than forty scientific articles/monographs. His research interests have focused on youth studies, civic activism, social movements, ethnic relations, citizenship and the relations between the police and citizens. Saari has worked as a researcher in two projects funded by the Academy of Finland (‘Citizenship Constellations’/ ‘Citizen Mindscapes’) and EU-funded (FP7) international ‘Memory, Youth, Political Legacy and Civil Engagement (MYPLACE)’ project. Earlier he has worked as university lecturer in the University of Eastern Finland and has over ten years’ experience on teaching/lecturing in courses such as ‘Criminology’ and ‘Crime, Deviance and Social Control’.
